Singapore-based international tyre supplier Stamford Tyres has announced the passing of its founder and senior advisor Mr Wee Kok Wah, last Monday 21st October.<\/p>\n

Mr Wee Kok Wah<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Mr Wee had been the head of the Stamford Tyres Group since the 1970s, when he took over from his father who had established the company in the 1930s as a garage service station and tyre retail shop.<\/p>\n

Mr Wee spent the past five decades as managing director, with Stamford Tyres becoming a public listed company in 1991.<\/p>\n

Over the past 25-years the company has continually expanded and evolved into today\u2019s international operation, specialising in the distribution and retailing of tyres and wheels plus the manufacturing of wheels.<\/p>\n

Mr Wee\u2019s knowledge of the tyre business gained him international recognition throughout the industry, and he was selected as a finalist for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award (in the category of Services and Business products) in 2004.<\/p>\n

Conson Sia, chief executive at Stamford Tyres said: \u201cMr Wee was an exceptional leader and an encouraging pillar of strength in business who dedicated his life to driving our company to its current commanding position in the world tyre market.<\/p>\n
