A five-part documentary following the Cooper Tire-supported Race2Recovery Dakar Rally team will premi\u00e8re on Eurosport this Christmas.<\/p>\n
Produced by Gaucho Productions and directed by award-winning director Tim Pritchard, the documentary charts the remarkable journey of the Race2Recovery team from the battlefield to the start of the 2013 Dakar Rally. The programmes deliver a detailed insight into the team and its incredible accomplishments as it prepares for a battle of a different kind \u2013 the gruelling 9,000-km desert classic.<\/p>\n
The team will use Cooper\u2019s aggressive Discoverer STT tyre, which boasts the innovative Armor-Tek3 heavy duty carcass, in their quest to become the first-ever team of disabled service personnel and veterans to complete the rally.<\/p>\n
Capturing the highs and lows of the team \u2013 from the moment they learnt to navigate the demanding conditions of the desert, to the point at which financial constraints looked set to dash any hopes of completing the challenge \u2013 and everything else in between – the series brings the trials and tribulations of the awe-inspiring team to the wider public.<\/p>\n
With the preparations now complete, it\u2019s just a matter of weeks before the Race2Recovery squad, which is predominantly made up of injured servicemen from the UK and America, embarks on the 15-day endurance race, beginning in Lima, Peru, on 5 January and ending in Santiago, Chile, on 20 January.<\/p>\n
