{"id":29154,"date":"2021-02-08T13:50:18","date_gmt":"2021-02-08T12:50:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/?p=29154"},"modified":"2021-02-12T16:32:55","modified_gmt":"2021-02-12T15:32:55","slug":"trailer-with-major-defects-seized-by-gardai-in-mayo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/index.php\/trailer-with-major-defects-seized-by-gardai-in-mayo\/29154","title":{"rendered":"Trailer with &#8216;major defects&#8217; seized by Garda\u00ed in Mayo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The driver of a vehicle towing a trailer with \u201cmajor defects which could cause serious injuries\u201d has had both the vehicle and trailer seized by Garda\u00ed.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Members of the Mayo Roads Policing Unit last weekend stopped the vehicle and trailer in question, only to discover the serious defects, which Garda\u00ed say included no flooring, no braking system, no lights, two ripped tyres, and a jockey wheel held up by a rope.<\/p>\n<p>A court prosecution is to follow for the driver, Garda\u00ed add.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-34541\" src=\"http:\/\/www.cvworkshop.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Screen-Shot-2021-02-08-at-12.30.33-PM.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"929\" height=\"808\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The Road Safety Authority (RSA) states that by law, it is a driver\u2019s responsibility to make sure that their vehicle and trailer meets legal requirements and is in a roadworthy condition at all times.<\/p>\n<p>It also says if you drive with damaged or worn tyres, you are putting your own life and the life of others at risk.
