It marks the first time that BMW has taken the title.<!--more--><a href=\"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Coty1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-4291\" title=\"Coty\" src=\"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Coty1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"185\" height=\"118\" \/><\/a>The results were as follows:<\/p>\n<p>1.\u00a0 BMW 3 Series\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 240 points<\/p>\n<p>2.\u00a0 Volvo V40\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 220 points<\/p>\n<p>3.\u00a0 Peugeot 208\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 202 points<\/p>\n<p>The Irish Motoring Writers Association judges awarded points on the basis of criteria ranging from innovation and safety to space, comfort, build quality, driving quality and value for money.<\/p>\n<p>Presenting the award to Michael Nugent, Director of Sales and Marketing, BMW Group Ireland, Paddy Murphy of sponsor, Continental Tyres Ireland, commented: \u201cThe BMW 3 Series is a fitting winner of this prestigious award given its renowned efficiency and technological strengths.
