The company held the grand opening of the new site on November 16 in Kunshan City, near Shanghai in Jiangsu Province, China.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Maxxis invested approximately USD $150 million in the new proving ground, which took several years to plan and construct. Located adjacent to Maxxis\u2019 Shanghai factory, the facility features comprehensive testing capabilities, the most of any tyre proving ground in China.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2604 aligncenter\" title=\"proving-ground_Maxxis.jpg.jpg-copy2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/proving-ground_Maxxis.jpg.jpg-copy2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"316\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/proving-ground_Maxxis.jpg.jpg-copy2.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/proving-ground_Maxxis.jpg.jpg-copy2-300x158.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The site, dedicated entirely to tyre testing, covers 860,000 square metres within a 5.2-kilometer perimeter. Separate courses test tyre performance at high speeds, braking, dry and wet handling, pass-by noise, ride, durability, N.V.H. (noise, vibration and harshness), and general performance. The track also contains dedicated testing areas for tyres under hydroplaning and severe dry\/wet manoeuvring conditions.<\/p>\n<p>In keeping with the company\u2019s focus on green practices, the test site allows Maxxis to continually upgrade its tyres to maximise environmental friendliness. The new proving ground also allows Maxxis to ensure that its tyres meet evolving standards for wet grip, fuel efficiency, external noise and other characteristics.
