Yokohama returned to its racing roots last weekend as the official tyre partner to\u00a0the Silverstone Classic where it showcased its motorsport and performance\u00a0credentials\u00a0in\u00a0a number of\u00a0high-profile activities.<\/p>\n

To mark over 30 years of history in the UK, Yokohama\u00a0unveiled a\u00a0display of notable road and race cars\u00a0which drew much attention from\u00a0admiring\u00a0visitors.\u00a0Race cars\u00a0in\u00a0the\u00a0display included Martin\u00a0Brundle\u2019s 1983 Ralt RT3 F3 race car,\u00a0Robb\u00a0Gravett\u2019s\u00a01990 BTCC championship winning Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 and Bill Gwynne\u2019s 1980 Vauxhall\u00a0Chevette\u00a0HSR rally car, which all ran on Yokohama tyres in period. Meanwhile the\u00a0company\u2019s\u00a0on the road pedigree was demonstrated with\u00a0cars including an original 1971 Nissan Skyline GT-R, a 1970 Datsun 240Z and a Lotus 340R\u00a0which were all fitted with Yokohama street-legal\u00a0tyres.<\/p>\n
On the track, Andrew and Max Banks stormed to victory in the Yokohama Trophy for FIA Masters Historic Sports Cars in their McLaren M6B. The winning trophy was presented by Yokohama\u00a0Europe\u2019s Vice-President, Mr. Imai, who had flown into the UK especially for the weekend\u2019s festival.<\/p>\n
In the Supercar Legends Display presented by Yokohama, motoring YouTuber, Adam C,\u00a0selected a stunning\u00a0De Tomaso\u00a0Pantera GT5 as the prize-winning car, presenting the winner\u2019s trophy to its owner\u00a0Geoff Peters.<\/p>\n
