{"id":23088,"date":"2019-05-08T10:47:42","date_gmt":"2019-05-08T09:47:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/?p=23088"},"modified":"2019-05-08T10:49:28","modified_gmt":"2019-05-08T09:49:28","slug":"rene-rast-claims-first-win-of-dtm-season-on-hankook-tyres","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/index.php\/rene-rast-claims-first-win-of-dtm-season-on-hankook-tyres\/23088","title":{"rendered":"Ren\u00e9 Rast claims first win of DTM season on Hankook tyres"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ren\u00e9 Rast won race two of the 2019 DTM season on May 5, after an impressive fightback at the Hockenheimring.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Audi driver started from 16th on the grid and twice came in for a fresh set of the Hankook race tyre.<\/p>\n<p>This two-stop strategy paid dividends, allowing the 32-year-old to take his eleventh victory in arguably the most popular international touring car series.<\/p>\n<p>After the wet race on May 4, good conditions meant the slicks supplied by exclusive DTM partner Hankook were used in Sunday\u2019s race, and they provided all the drivers with the high level of grip they have become accustomed to.<\/p>\n<p>Ren\u00e9 Rast said:\u00a0\u201cThat was an incredible race. I drove on three sets of Hankook tyres today and did not have any problems with any of them. They were all just as quick as each other. I benefitted from the safety car phase and the fresh Hankook tyres, which allowed me to really plough through the field and take the lead after my first pit stop.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The key after that was not to be too aggressive, in order to minimise tyre wear.
