<\/p>\nFalken Motorsports is starting the 2019 racing season with a new Porsche 911 GT3 R, which will be used alongside the BMW M6 GT3 at the N\u00fcrburgring. With the racing cars from two premium car manufacturers, the Japanese tyre brand is continuing its successful 20-year commitment to motorsports on the Nordschleife.<\/p>\n
The new generation of the Porsche 911 GT3 R, based on the face lifted Type 991, still has a six-cylinder boxer engine with 550 hp and even better aerodynamics. Falken 300\/680R18 tyres provide even more grip on the front axle, while the rear axle is still fitted with 310\/710R18 tyres.<\/p>\n
The driver line-up remains almost unchanged. The Porsche is driven by the two Austrians Martin Ragginger and Klaus Bachler, who are supported by the Porsche factory drivers Dirk Werner (D) and J\u00f6rg Bergmeister (D). At the wheel of the BMW, Peter Dumbreck (GB) and Alexandre Imperatori (CH) will be taking turns with the two BMW factory drivers Stef Dusseldorp (NL) and Jens Klingmann (D).<\/p>\n
Falken was the first Porsche customer team to test the 2019 model last autumn. With success: the evolutionary model of the VLN7 immediately achieved its predecessor’s high performance without any prior test runs. At the beginning of February, both Falken racing cars are being prepared for the new season at the Aut\u00f3dromo Internacional do Algarve in Portim\u00e3o, Portugal, during a three-day test. The new Porsche 911 GT3 R will make its racing d\u00e9but on March 23, 2019 at the first round of the 2019 VLN Long Distance Championship.<\/p>\n
