{"id":2120,"date":"2012-10-16T14:50:43","date_gmt":"2012-10-16T13:50:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/?p=2120"},"modified":"2012-10-16T14:51:04","modified_gmt":"2012-10-16T13:51:04","slug":"michelin-urges-drivers-to-get-a-grip-this-winter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/index.php\/michelin-urges-drivers-to-get-a-grip-this-winter\/2120","title":{"rendered":"Michelin urges drivers to get a grip this winter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sixty per cent of motorists drive with tyres that are underinflated \u2013 that\u2019s according to tyre manufacturer Michelin which is currently advising Irish motorists to be sure and get a grip this winter.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>According to experts at Michelin, cold weather can affect a tyre\u2019s pressure because as air temperature drops, so does tyre pressure.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-3506 alignright\" title=\"MICHELIN-Alpin-A4-COLD-WEATHER-TYRE\" src=\"http:\/\/www.autotrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/MICHELIN-Alpin-A4-COLD-WEATHER-TYRE.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"451\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Also, with normal tyres, low temperatures can harden the tread, reducing grip on slippery surfaces so much so that, during winter, when temperatures drop below 7\u02daC, the advice is to fit tyres designed specifically for winter conditions.
