Italian tyre firm Pirelli assisted British automotive manufacturer McLaren with P Zero tyres at a track day held at Silverstone Circuit earlier this month.<\/p>\n
The McLaren 12C is the first in a range of sports cars from McLaren Automotive. On sale worldwide, the McLaren Automotive global retailer network is responsible for sales and service of the 12C. By 2015, McLaren expects to be building approximately 4,000 sports cars annually across the range.<\/p>\n
Standard tyres on the McLaren 12C are bespoke Pirelli P Zero. The P Zero Corsa tyres are available as an option for use at higher temperatures and on circuits. These track-focused tyres offer enhanced performance in dry conditions, and are ideal for drivers that use their car on both road and track.,<\/p>\n
About 40 cars were present at Silverstone where Pirelli was on hand to supply its P Zero tyres and provide technical support. Pirelli also brought its carbon black Formula One truck as well as the popular F1 simulator to provide extra entertainment for the guests.<\/p>\n
The McLaren 12C GT3 race car was used during the day for hot laps, fitted with Pirelli slicks and wets. The GT3 car is the first McLaren built for FIA GT series racing since the McLaren F1 GTR in 1997.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
