Gills First Stop in Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim has moved to new premises, and has now added car and LCV servicing and repair, battery and exhaust replacement, and pre-NCT and DOE checks to its service offering.<\/p>\n
Gills First Stop’s new premises, which carries a full stock of Bridgestone, Firestone, and Dayton tyres is located on the Dublin side of the town, just off the N4, opposite a thriving Aldi store.<\/p>\nThe Gills First Stop team: (L-R) Shane Clarke, Vincent (Junior) Gill, Gerry Gill, Eoin McCaffrey.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The company supplies car, 4×4, SUV, LCV, Agri and Truck tyres to a wide customer base which includes a number of semi-state and public utility companies. Gills First Stop also caters for the needs of local haulage operators, the farming community as well as local motorists.<\/p>\n
With ample customer parking, a plush waiting room and TV, customer toilets, and tea and coffee making facilities, motorists in the Carrick-on-Shannon area will be well served by the new premises.<\/p>\nGills First Stop has two fully equipped tyre service bays<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The new premises with its impressive First Stop signage will set the standard for tyre retailers and fast fit operators in Leitrim and Roscommon\/<\/p>\n
Gerry Gill, proprietor of Gills Garage says the business had outgrown its previous facility at Kennedy’s Filling Station on the Dublin Road. \u201cWe simply outgrew our previous premises, and we felt the time was right to make the move.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a very busy Aldi supermarket, just across the road and we hope we will pick up new business on account of our location.\u201d<\/p>\nJoe Fallon of PJ Fallon & Sons congratulates Gerry Gill on the opening of the Gills First Stop’s new premises<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
The new premises, which was previously occupied by a Ford main dealership, has two fully equipped tyre service bays, which offer tyre changing, wheel balancing and laser wheel alignment. \nThe vehicle service bay is fully equipped to cater for five vehicles at a time.<\/p>\n
At the time of our visit, garage equipment specialists, PJ Fallon & Sons had just completed installing a Phoenix Automotive, in-ground, 5,000kgs scissors lift, which Gills First Stop will use for laser wheel alignment.<\/p>\n
The lift is capable of carrying long wheel base Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Volkswagen Crafter vans, making it ideal for LCV laser wheel alignment. PJ Fallon & Son also installed a number of two-post lifts and ancillary workshop equipment and tools.<\/p>\n
