{"id":13169,"date":"2016-01-04T18:21:05","date_gmt":"2016-01-04T17:21:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/?p=13169"},"modified":"2016-01-04T18:23:51","modified_gmt":"2016-01-04T17:23:51","slug":"tom-cantwell-rip","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/index.php\/tom-cantwell-rip\/13169","title":{"rendered":"Tom Cantwell RIP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is with great sadness that I learned of the the passing of one of the great legends of the Irish tyre industry, Tom Cantwell, of TC Tyres in\u00a0Kilkenny.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-13171\" src=\"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/tom-cantwell.jpg\" alt=\"tom-cantwell\" width=\"173\" height=\"228\" \/>Tom passed away on Christmas Day\u00a0peacefully, at the Beacon Hospital in Dublin. He was pre-deceased by his beloved son\u00a0Enda, and was the loving husband of Bernie and much loved father of Sin\u00e9ad, Donagh and Eoin.<\/p>\n<p>He will be\u00a0sadly missed by his wife and family, brothers Se\u00e1n, Matthew and Pat, sisters\u00a0Maura, Anna, Phyl and Joan, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, uncle\u00a0Jimmy, nephews, nieces, extended family and his many friends.<\/p>\n<p>He reposed at his home on Sunday, the 27th December.\u00a0Funeral Prayers were held on Monday morning, followed by removal to St.\u00a0Mary&#8217;s Cathedral for Requiem Mass.
