{"id":1035,"date":"2012-07-26T10:35:17","date_gmt":"2012-07-26T09:35:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/?p=1035"},"modified":"2012-07-26T10:35:17","modified_gmt":"2012-07-26T09:35:17","slug":"goodyear-youtube-video-goes-viral","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tyretrade.ie\/index.php\/goodyear-youtube-video-goes-viral\/1035","title":{"rendered":"Goodyear YouTube video goes viral"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A combination of a high-performance automobile, a professional stunt driver, lots of video cameras and Goodyear\u2019s new Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season tyre is attracting the attention of thousands of potential tyre buyers.<br \/>\n<!--more--><br \/>\nWith these elements added together, Goodyear created a popular video, which has generated more than 210,000 views on YouTube alone.<\/p>\n<p>To support the launch of the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season tyre \u2013 not available in the UK \u2013 the entertaining nearly four-minute video was created to playfully highlight the excellent performance features of the tyre. The video can be viewed on YouTube (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/Goodyear\/featured?v=M041nqZNUg8\">http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/user\/Goodyear\/featured?v=M041nqZNUg8<\/a>) or at a variety of popular consumer sites.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an exciting new tyre in an exciting, growing consumer segment \u2026 so it made sense to, in turn, produce a really exciting video to help tell the story of the importance of having the right tyres,\u201d said Jonathan Lee, General Manager, Goodyear Brand, US. \u201cConsumers will see that tyre grip is important to peak automotive performance, and the new Eagle specifically demonstrates superior handling during the video clip.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Working with its creative agency, Goodyear tapped Ben Conrad, director of some popular viral videos that feature exciting automotive action, to work on the project.<\/p>\n<p>With the creation of the video, the team helped show off the Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season in a tyre retail store \u201ctest drive.\u201d Four people go for a wild ride with \u201cundercover\u201d Hollywood stunt driver Danny Downey as he demonstrates how the tyres handle all-season conditions \u2026 with a few surprises.<\/p>\n<p>The Goodyear video was shot in April in California, with the opening scene at a retail outlet of Mountain View Tire, a Goodyear dealer. Among the features are ice, rain, a giant wooden ramp and a pi\u00f1ata truck.<\/p>\n<p>With the product availability of the new Eagle, the creation and broad distribution of the popular Control Freak video, a home page highlight on <a href=\"http:\/\/goodyear.com\/\">goodyear.com<\/a>, and in-store consumer materials, Goodyear is also extending the reach of the Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season with advertising in key media outlets.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe number of views is great and will help build brand equity among those who see it. Our media investment strategy has been very focused and targeted at consumers most likely to buy performance tyres and delivered via targeted print and public relations outreach,\u201d said Lee.<\/p>\n<p>The Eagle F1 Asymmetric All-Season is an all-new design, inspired by the complementary summer tyre, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2.
