Unique toy car creates a buzz at motorsports mecca
Among the striking exhibits at this year’s Autosport International, the UK’s annual celebration of motorsport, a unique self-propelled ride on toy car helped one of the world’s top ten tyre manufacturers to raise brand awareness.
Maxxis showcased didicar – a specially customised model resplendent in the company’s corporate colours and logo – alongside its latest tyres and a series of vehicle displays created to highlight its successful motorsport sponsorship.
“Maxxis sees didicar as an innovative promotional tool, not only to help draw the crowds to its stand at car shows and events, but also potentially for use as point of sale material by its tyre retailer network or as a product to add to its range of official merchandise,” said Ian Amis, director of Simac Marketing, the official supplier of didicar in the UK.
“The Maxxis didicar was not only a huge hit with motorsport fans attending Autosport International, but also captured the imagination of the Maxxis Babes promotional girls, who quickly seized the opportunity to put it through its paces.”
Unlike traditional ride on toy designs, didicar has no batteries, motors, chains or pedals. Thanks to its ground-breaking design, simply turning the steering wheel left and right translates downward force into forward and backward motion.
Conforming to the European Directives CE safety mark for toys (EN71), didicar is compact and light – weighing just 3.8kg – making it easy to transport and store, and has been developed for use indoors and outside on any hard, smooth, flat surface. It is ideal for children aged three and upwards, but is robust enough to carry enthusiastic older riders too, including adults up to 100kg (220lbs).

didicar is much more than a toy, playing a key role in promoting social play and independence from an early age and aiding a child’s physical development by helping with balance, co-ordination and spacial and speed awareness.
Available in a choice of bright colours, didicar is easily customised to meet an individual firm’s promotional requirements. Full details are available at www.didicar.co.uk
