TyreSafe welcomes Metropolitan Police as 250th supporter

TyreSafe has announced a new partnership with the Metropolitan Police in London, marking a major milestone as the UK organisation welcomes its 250th supporter.

The partnership is particularly significant as the Metropolitan Police is the largest police force in the UK, with responsibility for policing one of the most complex and diverse road networks in the country.

The collaboration further strengthens TyreSafe’s work with enforcement partners to reduce tyre-related risk and improve road safety outcomes.

Through the partnership, the Metropolitan Police will have access to TyreSafe’s evidence-led resources, campaign materials and vehicle-specific guidance.

Importantly, TyreSafe will also support in educating frontline officers and road policing teams in addition to engaging road users on the critical role tyres play in vehicle safety.

Hayley Webb, Acting Superintendent, Roads Policing, Metropolitan Police Roads and Transport Policing Command, Metropolitan Police, said: “Tyres are fundamental to vehicle safety, yet they are often overlooked by road users. This partnership with TyreSafe will support our ongoing work to improve road safety across London by helping us raise awareness of tyre condition, legality and maintenance.

“By working together, we can better engage drivers, riders and fleet operators, and reinforce the simple checks that can prevent collisions and save lives.”
