Tyre trade warned on sale of truck tyre casings

Tyre retailers have been warned that it is an offence to sell truck tyre casings to waste collectors that do not have a waste collection permit. The warning comes from the National Waste Collection Permit Office (NWCPO), which has warned that retailers, caught selling tyres to operators without a permit, could face hefty fines on conviction.

The warning comes on the back of claims that a number of out-of-state,  waste collectors are operating in the Republic of Ireland without the proper waste collection permits.
