Top marks for Hankook EV and summer tyres

Numerous current comparative tests have shown that Hankook’s electric vehicle and summer tyres are convincing in terms of comfort and safety, while offering excellent value for money.

The most recent example is in the Auto Bild tyre test (issue 16/2024), where the Hankook iON evo SUV was awarded top marks, securing the rating “Exemplary”.

The Auto Bild testers said: “New EV summer tread with a well-balanced high performance potential, stable and safe handling, short braking distances both on wet and dry roads, quiet drive-by noise, high mileage, good value for money.”

Up against seven competitors in the size 235/55 R19, the Hankook tyre came out with an overall score of 1.3. The iON evo SUV tyre is equipped with Hankook i Sound Absorber technology and has a particularly aerodynamic design, which ensures a really low noise level compared to standard tyres.

“Balanced and comfortable” – the Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 SUV secured the rating “very good” in the summer tyre test for compact SUVs by the magazine auto motor und sport (issue 07/2024).

For the test, the magazine compared eight tyres in the common SUV size of 235/55 R18.  In addition to the driving performance on dry and wet roads, the comparison also focused on the rolling resistance and rolling noise.

“Very good, dynamic wet handling capabilities with a high level of grip and ease of control. Direct steering response, very dynamic on dry roads, good comfort characteristics,” they said.

In its 2024 summer tyre test for motorhomes (issue 4/2024), Auto Bild Reisemobil rated the Hankook Ventus Prime 4 as “Exemplary”. The editorial team compared a total of 10 tyres in the size 225/55 R17 and came to the conclusion: “Premium summer tread with impressive handling characteristics on wet and dry roads, good aquaplaning safety reserves, safe wet and dry handling.”

The testers also praised the Hankook tyre for its “quiet drive-by noise” and “very good value for money”.

The Hankook Ventus S1 evo Z was another solid performer in the Auto Bild Sports Cars summer tyre test (issue 4/2024). The ultra-ultra-high-performance tyre for top-tier super sports cars was rated as “Good” among six competitors in the combination 265/35 R19 (front axle) and 295/30 R20 (rear axle) test.

“Perfect for sports cars thanks to its agile steering behaviour, good aquaplaning reserves and short braking distance on wet roads,” Auto Bild said.

The Hankook Ventus S1 evo 3 came out of Auto Zeitung’s summer tyre test (issue 7/2024) as the tyre representing the best value for money. For the comparison, the editorial team tested the comfort, energy efficiency and safety characteristics of nine current touring treads in the size 225/45 R17.

According to the experts, what really made the tyre from Hankook stand out was its “high grip potential” as well as the “balance in the wet and dry disciplines” – “a good compromise between dynamics and comfort”.
