Porsche approves Continental summer tyres for Macan
Porsche has approved a range of 20-, 21-, and 22-inch high-performance Continental tyres for original equipment fitment on the new Macan electric SUV.
The Macan is available with Continental’s SportContact 6 for sportiness or the CrossContact RX for comfort during summer driving. For winter conditions, Porsche recommends the WinterContact TS 860 S. All tyres come with the XL marking, indicating increased load capacity.
Continental also supplies original equipment tyres for nearly the entire Porsche lineup, including the Taycan, Cayenne and Panamera.

According to Continental, the SportContact 6 delivers exceptional grip and outstanding safety at high speeds of up to 350 km/h. To meet the performance demands of high-powered sports vehicles, Continental developers in Hanover optimised the tread compound, pattern and construction.
The tyre features several innovations, including a high-grip rubber compound, a specially designed tread for optimal force transmission and a newly developed reinforcement structure. The SportContact 6 belongs to the ultra-ultra-high-performance (UUHP) segment, designed for the most demanding driving experiences.
For drivers who prioritise comfort and low road noise, Continental says the CrossContact RX is the ideal choice. This all-season tyre features a specialised tread technology and a tailored siping concept. Its groove geometry ensures fast and reliable water removal from the contact surface, significantly reducing the risk of aquaplaning and ensuring strong grip and short braking distances on wet roads.
Depending on the version, the CrossContact RX is approved for speeds of up to 270 km/h. For the Porsche Macan, Continental supplies versions with a speed rating of V, suitable for speeds up to 240 km/h.
Meanwhile, the WinterContact TS 860 S is engineered specifically for the high demands of sports cars and high-performance, handling-focused vehicles and SUVs. Continental claims it delivers outstanding performance when it comes to dry braking and handling in the snow, offering maximum control, stability and driving enjoyment – especially for sporty drivers.
The tyre is also well suited to the instant torque and acceleration of electric vehicles. Additionally, Continental says its exceptionally low rolling resistance helps extend the range of electric cars and SUVs.
