Omni United makes senior rubber compounds appointment for Radar Tires

Singapore-based Omni United has appointed Dr. Mika Lahtinen as its new associate vice president for raw materials and compounding.

Omni United said the appointment will allow it to take a more “direct, expert-led approach” to the design and performance of the rubber compounds for its Radar Tires brand, distributed in Ireland by Mileage Tyres.

With over 20 years in tyre material innovation, Omni United said Dr. Lahtinen has an extensive background in developing breakthrough materials, developing cutting-edge compounds, and collaborating with global suppliers to advance tyre technology.

Prior to joining Omni United, Dr. Lahtinen led material development at Nokian Tyres and spearheaded global technology for tyre oils at Nynas across Finland, Sweden, and Singapore. He also holds a PhD in polymer materials technology.
