Nexen Tire OE for Kia PV5
Nexen Tire will supply its high-efficiency, high-performance summer tyre, the N’Blue S (215/65R16 102H), as original equipment (OE) for Kia’s new purpose-built vehicle (PBV), the Kia PV5, which arrives in Ireland this November.
The PV5 is a global PBV strategy model developed on the advanced Electric-Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), and offers flexible hardware and software expansion that can be adapted to a variety of uses from family car to camping and business vehicle. With this versatility, it is expected to become a key model for urban logistics and the mobility industry.
With this supply, Nexen Tire says it has demonstrated its advanced tyre technology optimised for electric vehicle-based commercial mobility. The N’Blue S is designed for eco-friendly, high-performance vehicles. It minimises rolling resistance to meet stricter carbon emissions regulations in Europe. The tyre is fitted on a range of European-style vehicles from various automakers, and is recognised for its quality and strong market presence.
With the N’Blue S, Nexen Tire introduced its Sidewall Aero Dynamic technology, which reduces pass-by noise and improves fuel efficiency, for the first time. This innovation helps meet stringent European environmental regulations on noise and fuel economy.
Notably, the tyre features a simplified groove design that enhances high-speed water drainage and provides stronger wet traction compared to its predecessor. As a result, the N’Blue S provides stable braking performance and excellent durability, even in repetitive urban driving conditions, maximising the efficiency of commercial electric vehicles.
