Laufenn S Fit 2 now original equipment for Skoda Octavia

The new Laufenn S Fit 2 is set to feature as original equipment (OE) on the new Skoda Octavia, the brand’s highest-volume model, and will be factory-fitted in the popular 205/55 R17 91 V size on the model.

According to the Hankook brand, the debut of the summer tyre as OE for a leading European car manufacturer “confirms the quality level and performance of the S Fit 2”, which was also recently launched in the replacement market.

Further, the successful partnership with the Czech car manufacturer forms the basis for further OE projects and underlines “the impressive development of the Laufenn brand over the last 10 years”.

Laufenn said the focus during OE development was on building a tyre that would be “an impressive all-rounder, with no notable weaknesses”. Safety-related characteristics are particularly important in this respect.

Very good wet grip is therefore essential for the S Fit 2. The tyre’s structure has been adapted to ensure short braking distances, even on wet roads, thanks to a high silica content and convex tread blocks.

Reinforced tyre shoulders and the precisely matched compound guarantee stable handling, even when driving the famously spacious Octavia in a sporty manner and with a full load.

In full accordance with the specifications, the developers of the Laufenn tyre paid attention to reducing rolling noise in order to increase driving comfort while also minimising noise emissions.

The S Fit 2 also offers impressive rolling resistance, contributing to an improvement in fuel efficiency. The new polymer technology ensures much higher wear resistance, with higher mileage meaning lower life cycle costs for vehicle owners.
