Kumho provides tyres for American premium sports car dodge Viper

Kumho Tire has started supplying OE tyres for the 2016 Dodge Viper, the newest of the renowned supercar model. Dodge is an American brand of vehicles manufactured by the car giant Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA).

 
The Dodge Viper boasts the highest displacement (8,400cc) among cars that run on public roads. It clocked the fastest record time ahead of European supercars in the Nürburgring lap time competition. The new 2016 Dodge Viper is the fastest ever among cars produced under the brand name.
 
Since it started developing a high-performance tyre in 2014 after being selected as the sole supplier, Kumho has obtained approval from Chrysler for performance, technology and mass production and began shipping the tyres this month. The new Dodge Viper will be fitted with Kumho’s high-performance tyre ECSTA V720 using 295/25ZR19 on the front and 355/30ZR19 on the rear.
 
Optimized for circuit driving lovers, the ECSTA V720 is equipped with rubber and technology designed for racing that offer highest stability through an optimum ground contact area during high-speed driving on regular roads. It has reinforced outside blocks for excellent driving stability and features asymmetric patterns for maximum contact area and increased stability and control during cornering. The tyre’s side areas have the ACR logo and a snake pattern that represents a viper – a unique design feature of the tyre.
 
The 2016 Dodge Viper ACR will be produced at Chrysler’s factories in Corner Avenue, Detroit and fitted with tyres manufactured at Kumho’s Gwangju factories. “It is a considerable feat for Kumho to supply OE tyres for the Dodge Viper since it means our technological prowess has been recognized in the global high-performance car market,” said Hyun-Ho Kim, Senior Vice President
at Kumho Tire, “The ECSTA 720 holds great significance to us as it is built on our racing technology built through the aggressive motorsport campaigns we have conducted over the years at home and abroad.”
 
Since its first contract with Chrysler in 2006, Kumho has supplied tyres for a variety of cars including the Chrysler 200, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep Compass and Dodge Journey.
