Hankook Tire Group changes name

Hankook Tire Group will change the names of its affiliates as it seeks expansion in next-generation technologies, the group said in a statement.

‘Hankook Tire Worldwide’, the holding company, will change its name to ‘Hankook Technology Group’ to strengthen future new business development strategy with innovation based on cutting-edge technology.

The name change will also affect its core unit ‘Hankook Tire’, as it will now become ‘Hankook Tire & Technology’. It plans to utilize big data and artificial intelligence to build smart factories, the company added.

The company stated it plans to “reinforce its position as a leading global technology company through strengthening quality growth and competitiveness of the tyre business, as well as the new growth power system centred on technology, brand, and network.”
