Hankook Kinergy all-season tyres impress in various test categories

The all-season tyres from the Hankook Kinergy 4S series scored top marks in the comparison tests by Auto Bild sportscars, Auto Bild Allrad and Auto Bild, with the Kinergy 4S 2 achieving the rating “exemplary” and “very good” for the sizes 225/45 R18 and 215/55 R17, and the Kinergy 4S 2 X achieving the mark “good” for the size 215/50 R18.

Hankook was praised for the balanced, safe performance profile of its all-season treads across all seasons.

On particularly sporty vehicles, the Auto Bild sportscars testers (12/2025 issue) regard all-season tyres like the Hankook Kinergy 4S 2, which was tested in the size 225/45 R18, as a dynamic alternative to classic winter tyres.

The Hankook Kinergy 4S 2 is available with a Y speed rating — it won’t slow you down, and when you decide to brake, it delivers the grip you need. For its strong performance in the test, it received an overall score of 1.4 and the rating “exemplary”. The price point of the Kinergy 4S 2 also received a positive mention.

The Hankook Kinergy 4S 2 also shone in the test by Auto Bild Allrad (1st October 2025 issue), this time in the size 215/55 R17, which is used on numerous compact and lower mid-range SUV and crossover models. In a field of 11 current all-season tyres, it received a score of 1.4.

In particular, the Hankook tyre demonstrated its strengths in terms of handling on dry roads, where it came out top of the field. It also demonstrated balanced performance in the safety tests on snow, as well as short braking distances. The testers’ final judgement was “a dynamic tyre in dry conditions, which also cuts an extremely confident figure on snow”.

The Auto Bild testers (23rd October 2025 issue) also tested the Hankook Kinergy 4S 2 X SUV tyre in the size 215/50 R18. They summarised their verdict as “very strong aquaplaning performance” and “good value for money”, and awarded the all-season tread the mark “good”.
