Gordon Bruce RIP

Well-known motoring writer and communications consultant, Gordon Bruce, sadly passed away just before Christmas at the age of 76.
Gordon suffered a heart attack during a gym session near his Buckinghamshire home, according to an obituary from the Guild of Motoring Writers in the UK, which can be read in full here.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn, children Alastair and Becky, along with his several grandchildren.
Gordon’s funeral was held yesterday (16th January) at the Chilterns Crematorium in Amersham, England.
Gordon, who was once the UK’s Motor Magazine road test editor and Ford PR manager, established Gordon Bruce Associates (GBA) in 1982.
The company rapidly evolved into one of Europe’s leading automotive communications consultancies, whose 20-strong team of top specialists was the first choice of many of the world’s major manufacturers and suppliers, such as Citroen, Ford, Volvo, Jaguar, Peugeot, Renault, and Seat.
In 2005, part of the company was sold to a competitor. Since then GBA has been successfully operated as a boutique consultancy, serving selected clients of its own as well as providing support to fellow marketing agencies and in-house PR departments.
Gordon was also the long-time public relations agent for Kumho Tyre UK, and regularly provided TyreTrade.ie and the Tyre Trade Journal with press material from the brand.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam. May he rest in peace.
