Goodyear’s UltraGrip 8 hits the 7 million mark

Goodyear’s winter tyre UltraGrip 8 has been fitted on rims over 7,000,000 times in Europe since it was first launched in 2011.

The numbers were announced as the 7 millionth winter tyre was counted leaving the factory for a customer in Europe. Assuming that all cars fitted received four tyres, that means that some 1,750,000 cars in Europe’s winter regions were, or are, driving on UltraGrip8 during the coldest months of the year. The results make the UltraGrip 8 one of Goodyear’s leading winter tyres.

UltraGrip branded tyres were first launched in 1971 and have, to date, been produced over 60 million times, across eight generations of the product. The UltraGrip 8 generation takes credit for 12% of that massive figure alone in the past 3 years.
