Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac RT launches in Europe

Goodyear’s latest 4×4 tyre offering has been launched in Europe.

A successor to the popular Wrangler Duratrac, the new Wrangler Duratrac RT offers a significant step forward in technology and performance, according to Goodyear.

Described as a 50/50 on/off-road premium tyre, Goodyear says its bold appearance, toughness and comfortable handling making it an excellent fit for the current generation of off-road vehicles, while also offering a quiet and smooth ride on-road.

The Wrangler name can trace its heritage back to 1976. “RT” stands for rough terrain, marking the product’s great ability over rugged terrain. The RT initials were used on the very first Wrangler tyre, when the range was introduced for fitment on specialised 4×4 vehicles and had been a symbol for off-road performance ever since.

Designed for the roughest terrain, Goodyear claims the Wrangler Duratrac RT is loaded with the latest off-road technology that gives drivers excellent control, grip and confidence.

Goodyear’s Tri-Shield technology uses reinforced materials to boost reliability and penetration resistance. The three-ply structure adds significant strength and tear resistance compared to a traditional two-ply construction, ideal for navigating harsh terrain.

DuraEdge technology provides the driver with grip even when traversing side slopes. The enhanced tread design extends over the sidewall, giving more protection against rocks and a more aggressive look to the tyre’s shoulder.

Furthermore, Goodyear says its Optimised Tread Pattern excels in rugged conditions while providing excellent all-round performance and comfort on the road.

Goodyear adds that it will continue to roll out Wrangler Duratrac RT sizes during Q4 2023 for rim sizes of 15- to 19-inches. A total of 15 sizes will be available.
