Cooper Tire launches new wet-weather rallycross tyre
Cooper Tire has launched a new 17-inch wet-weather rallycross tyre, raising the standard in wet-weather performance, as Cooper continues its ongoing commitment to research and development in the Rallycross arena.
The 210/635R17 wet tyres have been developed for the European Rallycross Championship and have already undergone tests in Germany, Sweden and Norway, where they ran competitively.
The all-new Cooper wets have run in open competition in both Portugal and France, where the fastest laps in the heats were set on Coopers.
The new rallycross rubber has received widespread praise from key personalities within the discipline, including 14-time European Rallycross Champion and Hansen Motorsport Team Manager, Kenneth Hansen, who indicated that Cooper’s wet-weather tyre performance was comparable to that of its highly-acclaimed ACB11 in dry conditions.
European Marketing Communications Manager, Sarah McRoberts, said that the move was indicative of Cooper’s long-term involvement in the sport, saying, “Rallycross is a discipline which we’ve been involved with for several years, with both the Cooper and Avon brands being held in very high esteem amongst rallycross competitiors.
