Continental wins iF Product Design Award

Continental has been announced as the winner of the much-sought-after iF Product Design Award.

Continental received the iF citation, in its 60th year now, for an innovative new tyre for electric vehicles (e-cars) and hybrid passenger cars. In the words of the jury, the award is intended to single out “exceptional design achievements”.

Continental presented the Conti.eContact, which boasts ultra low rolling resistance and a never-before-seen size of 20 inches, to the international jury comprised of 30 members.

The prize is awarded each year in three categories: Product Design, Packaging Design and Communications Design. The award will be handed over to Continental officially on February 22 at the iF Design Awards Night in Munich.

The tyre will then be showcased as part of the iF Design Exhibition during CeBit, to be hosted in Hanover from March 5 – 9, 2013.
