Bridgestone staff volunteer on Daffodil Day

Ten Bridgestone Ireland employees volunteered to fundraise for the Irish Cancer Society on this year’s Daffodil Day, Friday 28th March.

The volunteers partnered with the local Skerries town organising committee and covered locations from 9am to 5pm. As a result of the Bridgestone staff volunteering the Irish Cancer Society was able to cover a new location for collections raising additional funds.

Bridgestone Ireland HR manager, Ursula Scott said: “The feedback from all those who participated has been so positive, and all commented on how it was such a rewarding experience.

“It was lovely to meet so many people on the day and listen to their stories of how cancer has touched their families, and how the wonderful work of the Irish Cancer Society made a difference to them.

“This was our first time volunteering with the Irish Cancer Society and we look forward to growing that relationship in the future.”

“We are really happy that we have found a way to continue our long term relationship with the Irish Cancer Society and also to add an activity with staff involvement and volunteering,” added Colm Conyngham, marketing and public relations manager at Bridgestone Ireland.

The Bridgestone volunteers were: Ashling Hoey, Laura Sherwin, Tracey Fagan, Niamh Hand, Elaine Carroll, Ramona O’Hanlon, Hugh O’Malley, Martin Somers, Colm Conyngham and Ursula Scott.
