Avon to debut new motorcycle tyres at 2014 Expo Show

Avon Tyres will be displaying their latest motorcycle tyres at the 2014 Motorcycle Trade EXPO show.

The show – one of the trade highlights of the year – is taking place at the Birmingham NEC January 19-21 and showcases the best that the UK motorcycle trade has to offer. Avon Tyres will be there debuting the new sizes to the popular Storm 3D X-M tyre as well as the new whitewall Cobra radial, which is the OE fitment for the 2014 Triumph Thunderbird LT.

New for 2014 are a range of sizes for the Storm 3D X-M. The new tyre takes the unique technology found in the 3D Ultra sports tyre family and uses it to create a Hypersport-touring tyre which also delivers higher mileage without compromising wet or dry performance levels. Fitments are available for models such as the Kawasaki GTR1400 and ZZR1400, Suzuki Hayabusa, Honda Blackbird, BMW R1200 and Yamaha FJR1300, XJR1300 amongst others.

The Storm 3D X-M features interlocking three-dimensional points hidden in the tyre’s smallest grooves, which improve stability, grip and warm-up times, while limiting tread flex. These latest advances in tyre technology are married to a high-performance single and multi-compound silica-rich tread which enhances wet grip whilst managing heat build-up to increase tyre tread life.

The additional Avon Storm 3D X-M sizes being introduced through the first quarter include: 110/70ZR17 (front), 110/80ZR18 (front), 110/80R19 (front), 120/60ZR17 (front), 150/70ZR17 (rear), 150/80ZR16 (rear), 160/60ZR17 (rear),160/60ZR18 (rear), 160/70R17 (rear), 170/60ZR17 (rear), 190/55ZR17 (rear), and 200/50ZR17 (rear). These will complement the 120/70-ZR17 (front) and 180/55-ZR17 and 190/50-ZR17 (rear) sizes introduced in late 2013.
