AutoSock – the winter driving aid
AutoSock is exhibiting it range of reusable textile “socks” at EuroBus Expo, which takes place at the NEC in Birmingham, November 6-8. The AutoSock is reusable textile ‘sock’ which is pulled over the driving wheels of vehicles which need extra grip on ice or snow.
The grip is achieved through friction, coupled with high tech textiles. The AutoSock is quick and easy to fit and remove. No special training is required – and they fold up for easy storage to about the size of a shirt.
AutoSock created the vehicle snow sock concept well over 10 years ago; all its products have full TÜV approval, and its car socks are supplied as Original Equipment to numerous car manufacturers.
This will be the first time that the AutoSock has been shown at EuroBus Expo. Buses and coaches probably have the most need of any type of vehicle to be able to keep moving safely in snowy weather, even just to get to the nearest service station. Snowfall in the UK and Ireland often happens without much warning, so it’s important to be prepared.
“Attending a show like this will give us a fantastic opportunity to meet new contacts,” says David Cannom of John Jordan Limited, UK and Ireland distributors for AutoSock. “If the right people carried AutoSock there’d be no excuse for the roads being blocked by vehicles when the snow falls faster than it can be cleared. We have a simple and effective solution and feel a real responsibility to try and get the message out. Many of our fleet customers also use AutoSock to move safely and easily around their depots, and to get to the main roads.”
John Jordan Limited already supplies AutoSock to many fire, police and ambulance services as well as to other fleets. For further information, please visit www.autosock.co.uk/fleets.
