Continental AllSeasonContact 2 tops ACE tyre test
Continental’s AllSeasonContact 2 took first place in the recently published Auto Club Europe (ACE) all-season tyre test with the highest rating of ‘highly recommended’.
The German automobile club tested nine tyre models in the size 215/50 R18 together with the Austrian Automobile, Motorcycle, and Cyclist Association (ARBÖ) and the technical testing organisation Society for Technical Inspection (GTÜ).

The test vehicle was a Volkswagen T-Roc. In addition to differences in performance on snowy and wet roads, the testers also found significant differences in performance on dry roads – for example, there was a difference of 6.3 metres in braking distance from 100 km/h between the test winner Continental and the runner-up, which is one and a half small car lengths.
The experts from Stuttgart, Germany, tested the performance of all-season tyres on snowy, wet, and dry roads – after all, these tyres are designed to provide year-round safety. According to the ACE, almost every third tyre sold in Europe today is an all-season tyre. In the test, the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 is said to have done the best job of balancing the different requirements.
Last year, Continental launched the AllSeasonContact 2, an improved version of its award-winning predecessor. It is suitable for a wide range of passenger cars and SUVs, regardless of their powertrain.
Continental says it has significantly increased the mileage of the AllSeasonContact 2 compared to its predecessor while reducing the rolling resistance without compromising on safety.
The AllSeasonContact 2 promises even better dry handling and shorter wet and dry braking distances than its predecessor. The AllSeasonContact 2 is available in a wide range of sizes for rims, from 15 to 21 inches.
