Avon Tyres goes live on Facebook and Twitter

Avon Tyres has launched Facebook and Twitter pages as it looks to bring its varied activities to a wider audience.

The official Avon Tyres Facebook page (www.facebook.com/AvonTyresOfficial) will showcase Avon’s diverse involvement in motoring, motorcycling and motorsport across the world, while offering advice and information on tyre care and Avon’s tyre range.

Regular page posts are set to include weekly tyre tips, offering advice to drivers and motorcyclists on tyre safety and general tyre care and a bi-monthly “Ask Avon” feature, which invites tyre-related questions from the public. Other features will include team and driver Q&As, image galleries, news stories and more.

As well as updating the public on Avon’s activity on road and track, Avon welcomes input, posts and relevant images from its audience as the brand looks to build a strong and engaged Facebook community.

A competition app will be launched in the near future, offering prizes – from sets of tyres to VIP Avon Tyres British GT race tickets – on a monthly basis.

Meanwhile, Avon’s Twitter page (@AvonTyres) will share useful manufacturer information and industry news, as well as providing live race updates from selected motorsport events.

Sarah McRoberts, European Marketing Manager for Cooper Tire Europe, underlined the importance of Avon’s expansion into social media, saying, “It’s certainly the right time for an established and respected brand such as Avon to establish its own social media channels. Social media – primarily Facebook and Twitter – is becoming increasingly important to manufacturers, both in terms of customer relations and also bringing activity to a wider audience.

“As well as Avon’s wide range of car, van and motorcycle tyres, we also provide tyres to motorsport championships across the world and one of our aims – through social media – is to bring this involvement to a wider audience of motorsport enthusiasts, while also providing  advice on how to care for and best use car and motorcycle tyres.”

Avon Tyres can now be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/AvonTyresOfficial and on Twitter by following @AvonTyres.
