Vredestein launches Ultrac summer tyre
Vredestein has launched its all-new range of Ultrac summer tyres, which it says delivers best-in-class performance in both wet and dry conditions.
Developed with a focus on safety and comfort by the Apollo Tyres global R&D centre in Enschede in the Netherlands, the new Ultrac tyre is available in sizes from 15 to 18 inches, making it ideally suited for a wide selection of family and compact cars.
Vredestein claims the all-new Ultrac tyre range achieves unrivalled handling and cornering even at high speeds, with a 15 per cent improvement in dry and wet conditions over its predecessor.
This is the result of an enhanced tyre cavity with a squarer footprint, stiffer tread pattern and centre rib with parabolic lateral grooves, which enhance steering response and precision for a safe and dynamic driving experience.
Additionally, the tyre’s five per cent improvement in rolling resistance boosts fuel efficiency and lowers CO2 emissions.
Vredestein’s innovative R&D team used next-generation tread compound technology to achieve 10 per cent better braking thanks its predecessor on dry and wet surfaces. This results from the new Ultrac tyre featuring a 50 per cent increase in unique, traction-enhancing silica and resin compounds, combined with multifunctional polymers.
Comfort was a priority for Vredestein, and the company set out to optimise the driver experience. Shock absorption is enhanced by reduced apex height, optimised sidewall construction and increased flex zone to deliver a quieter ride. In addition, the pitch sequence of the tyre has also been optimised at different tyre diameters to increase acoustic comfort.
