TyreSafe partners with Business in the Community Northern Ireland

TyreSafe, the UK’s leading tyre safety charity, has announced Business in the Community (BITC) Northern Ireland as its newest supporter. It’s the first time TyreSafe has collaborated with a Northern Ireland-based road safety partner.

BITC Northern Ireland is spearheading a new road safety campaign, funded by the Road Safety Trust and developed in collaboration with the Police Service of Northern Ireland. The campaign, Responsible Business and the Fatal Five, aims to:

  • Increase road safety knowledge in Northern Ireland.
  • Promote awareness of the Fatal Five causes of driving-related fatalities.
  • Use workplaces as platforms for education and advocacy for safer driving.
  • Inspire employees to share safety messages with families and friends.
  • Develop resources and knowledge-sharing tools for employers, ensuring the campaign’s impact extends beyond its initial two years.

The campaign launched its first phase on 2nd December, with a follow-up from next February. BITC Northern Ireland has requested campaign assets from TyreSafe and welcomes the support of the charity’s extensive network.

Stuart Lovatt, TyreSafe Chair, said” “We are thrilled to partner with Business in the Community Northern Ireland and support its efforts to improve road safety across workplaces. This collaboration is a significant milestone as it represents our first supporter from Northern Ireland.

“We are confident this partnership will inspire similar collaborations across other regions, uniting businesses to promote safer driving and prevent unnecessary tragedies on our roads.”

Helen Bowman, head of communications at BITC Northern Ireland, added: “We are delighted to work with TyreSafe to champion road safety within Northern Ireland’s workplaces. Businesses have a unique role to play in promoting safer driving practices, and through this partnership, we aim to empower employers to educate their teams and contribute to safer roads for everyone. Together, we can drive a culture of responsibility that extends beyond the workplace and into the community.”
