The Irish Tyre Industry Association (ITIA) is holding an open meeting at the Athlone Training Centre tomorrow, September 12, from 17:30-19:30.
Athlone Training Centre, which is just off the M6 (Exit 9) recently played host to the ITIA’s very successful Tyre Technician Programme.
The meeting is open to all members of the tyre industry, including non- ITIA members and will be an opportunity for you to meet with colleagues to discuss the challenges for the industry.
The meeting will hear from the following guest speakers:
- Aaron Travers of Travers insurance on the topic of insurance and opportunities for ITIA members.
- Alan Bithell, Chairman of the British Standard steering panel for the tyre repair standard BS AU 159g and director of the Retread Manufacturing Association.
- Ben Hartopp, Operations Manager, Tyresure, one of Europe’s leading suppliers of TPMS products.
The ITIA will highlight the work it is undertaking in relation to legislation, regulation and training and outlines its communications plan for Road Safety Week which will include a campaign involving An Garda Siochána carrying out road checks for tyre safety.
The meeting will also include a tour of the Athlone Training facility and a presentation on the ITIA tyre technician training programme.
Light refreshments will be served on the night.
