TRACS works towards ISO27001
TRACS (the Tyre Recovery Activity Compliance Scheme) has decided to improve its commitment to the protection of members’ data by implementing the ISO 27001 Information Security Management standard. TRACS is working towards compliance with the standard over the next 12 months.
The ISO27001 information security management system is the international best practice standard for information security. It provides a set of standardised requirements for an information security management system (ISMS) and procedures and methodologies to manage information.
Benefits of ISO27001 include building and improving on TRACS’ culture of security, applying best practice and standards to keep confidential information private, exchanging data in a secure manner, providing members and stakeholders with confidence in how risk is managed, ensuring all legal
obligations are being met, managing and minimising exposure to risk and protecting members’ information.
According to Fiacra Quinn, director of TRACS, “We believe that by implementing the ISO27001 standard, we will improve on the strong commitment we already have to provide our members with absolute confidence that their data is being held securely.”
