Top scores for Vredestein across range of European media tests

A review of tyre tests carried out by the Auto Bild family over the past year reflects very well on the Vredestein brand; recently, Auto Bild has awarded Vredestein the All-season Brand of The Year (1st place) and Summer Brand of The Year (2nd place).

A series of awards and recognitions bestowed upon Vredestein also included 4×4 magazine Auto Bild Allrad giving Quatrac 5 top marks, while the all-season tyre test carried out by Auto Bild saw the Quatrac Pro come in second.

“Those test results are done independently and demonstrate the excellent quality and performance of Vredestein products. We have launched the All- Season range 26 years ago in Europe and are more than ever the leader in this category”, comments Apollo Vredestein’s Head of Sales Yves Pouliquen. “Our excellent 2nd position in summer tyres also shows our leadership not only on Allseason but also on summer tyres.”

In the last year and a half Vredestein continued to be recognised as a premium brand and a marque deserving top scores (high ranking scores) in more than 20 publications, in Europe as well as in the USA, with a clear leadership in terms of quality and performance when it comes to all-season tyres. More specifically, the most recent tyre that is introduced, the Quatrac Pro, major publications have recognised Vredestein’s predominance in the newly-created all-season UHP segment where Vredestein offers the largest range of available sizes, with a product designed specifically for that part of the market.

The experts gave the Vredestein Quatrac 5 close to perfect grades in all three categories – ‘snow’, ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ surfaces – making the Vredestein tyre the overall winner and earning the coveted ‘exemplary’ label

Last spring, Auto Bild Allrad’s test of all-season tyres, which looked at seven models in the size 235/55 R 19, underlined the suitability of all-season tyres for all-wheel drive cars in particular. The experts gave the Vredestein Quatrac 5 close to perfect grades in all three categories – ‘snow’, ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ surfaces – making the Vredestein tyre the overall winner and earning the coveted ‘exemplary’ label. It is generally known that SUV tyre demand partly explains the all-season tyre sales growth, and Vredestein has offered all-season tyres in SUV sizes long before most of its rivals.

A broader all-season test for passenger cars was also carried out in the autumn by Auto Bild and evaluated 31 different tyebrands in the size 225/45 R 17. Here, too, the experts in charge of the assessment emphasised the practicality of all-season tyres and recommended seven brands. Only two received the ‘exemplary’ stamp – with the Vredestein Quatrac Pro being one of them. The tyre received best or next-best marks in each of the four categories ‘snow’, ‘wet’, ‘dry’ and ‘cost’.

In the last three months, Vredestein’s summer tyres have consistently been placed in the top five positions in other media tests: thanks to the Ultrac Satin (Vredestein’s  first tyre to be designed keeping OE requirements in mind) and Vredestein Ultrac Vorti, the efforts that R&D made in construction and compound have rewarded the company with top spots.
