Techplus bolsters TPMS offering with MultiSensor programme

Workshop equipment specialists, Techplus has bolstered its Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) offering with Tech Europe’s innovative MultiSensor programme, which was launched at Autopromotec in Bologna, earlier this year.

Techplus-tool-kitTechplus says there’s no complex programming required, no programming errors, no expensive programming tool and no time wasted. Just pick the sensor from stock, and where the car has an autolearn system……Fit and Drive. It’s as simple as that, Techplus says.

The muitisensor is manufactured, already programmed with many different OE sensor firmwares and protocols. Many different sensors can be programmed into one Multisensor.

Then when the Multisensor is installed into the car, replacing the Original Equipment Sensor fitted by the manufacturer, the sensor sends the different protocols in a very fast digital transmission.  The Multisensor totally replicates the transmission frequency, protocol and data sent from the OE sensor.

The vehicle is looking for the correct OE sensor protocol data stream, and when it receives the correct protocol from the Multisensor the data is accepted.

For those vehicles where the replaced sensor needs to be programmed into the ECU, the process is the same as replacing the OE sensor.  As the Multisensor acts like the correct sensor for the car the relearn procedure for the tyrebay technician is simple, exactly the same as the OE sensor replacement.

The benefit of the Multisensor is that it is planned to have only 4 Multisensor packages which will cover 95 pe cent of the European car park. That means that a tyrebay can purchase four sensors and cover almost all European cars.

The standard MultiSensor comes as a Snap In package with the option of an Aluminium valve. The benefit of this system is that particularly with winter wheels and tyres where chemicals and salt are put onto the roads, a rubber valve is generally the most durable option. However if a single OE sensor is being replaced and the customer prefers to have a metal valve fitted the tyrebay can accommodate the customers wishes.

The Multisensor is also available with a standard TECH package that uses a ‘ball’ type valve stem locator allowing the angle of the sensor to be adjusted in the wheel.

Another huge advantage of the Multisensor is that it can be manufactured to be ‘Country Specific’, this means that for instance it is possible make one sensor to cover all Italian cars, or all German cars etc…

No costly programming tools required, no programming mistakes, no time wasted, Fit and Drive…
