When Goodyear Farm Tires staged its long-awaited return to the Irish farming market, there was a sense of optimism and excitement.
Some 12 months on and those feelings of anticipation have been more than justified.
Scores of farmers, across both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland, have placed their faith in the products that have a proud history of outstanding performance, value and durability – and they certainly haven’t been disappointed.
Phillip Armstrong, the owner of approved Goodyear Farm Tires distributor Farm Tyres NI, said: “It has been a fantastic first year for Goodyear Farm Tires back in Ireland.
“A lot of experienced farmers had very fond memories of Goodyear Farm Tires having used them previously so were excited about their return, while understandably wanting assurances about the quality of the new product.
“Any questions they had have been well and truly answered and the feedback we have had has been that Goodyear Farm Tires offers an outstanding product and value for money, with excellent performance in even the harshest of conditions and value for money.
“Demand has stayed strong during the Covid-19 outbreak because farmers have had to continue working. They have been seeking a product they can trust and have found that in Goodyear Farm Tires.”
The new range has been headlined by the Optitrac, the mainstay of the Goodyear Farm Tires offering.
The Optitracs are capable of speeds of up to 65km/h and feature a wear-resistant tread compound to maximise tyre life and provide peak performance on both road and field.
The exclusive Low Sidewall Technology on offer from Goodyear Farm Tires is also receiving strong reviews, with a larger rim diameter and smaller sidewall than the standard tyre providing benefits including improved floatation, reduced soil compaction and an ability to increase load by up to 40 per cent without affecting tyre pressure.
The range also includes 85, 70, 65 and XL Tractor Drive Radials, as well as specific designs for sprayers, harvesters and industrial applications.
The link with Goodyear Farm Tires has enabled Farm Tyres NI to continue going from strength to strength.
Brought up on his family’s dairy farm in Stewartstown, County Tyrone, Phillip worked as an engineer in the Royal Air Force before more recently working for different large agricultural tyre dealers, providing the expertise and confidence to set up Farm Tyres NI.
Phillip, who has close links with the Ulster Farmers Union and Young Farmers’ Clubs of Ulster, said: “It’s been a real boost for us to have the association with Goodyear Farm Tires.
“Our long-term aim is to be represented by a distributor in every county in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland and we are well on the way to achieving that.
“We want to continue progressing and spread the word and provide the best price on Goodyear Farm Tires anywhere in Ireland.
“We have a large range of products and a vast experience to ensure we are recommending and providing the best possible tyre solution to suit individual needs.”
