RTE highlights Bridgestone’s sustainable journey

Bridgestone’s sustainable credentials were highlighted by RTE’s Washington Correspondent, Sean Whelan with a video documentary and article entitled “Climate Change – where the rubber hits the road” on Bridgestone’s use of the Guayule plant in the US to make tyres.

Bridgestone has been working with farmers in southwestern states to develop a supply of this rubber producing plant which is suited to drought and desert conditions. This year the company produced sets of Guayule tyres for use in an IndyCar race.

“This is one of the many global and local initiatives underlining Bridgestone’s strong commitment to sustainability,” says Colm Conyngham, Marketing and Public Relations Manager, Bridgestone Ireland.

“We were delighted to see it highlighted by our national broadcaster, RTE,” added Colm.
