Pirelli staff help raise money for breast cancer care
Staff from the contact centre at Pirelli’s Burton upon Trent base showed their support to the Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign on Friday 26 October by raising a total of £520 for the cause.
Founded in 1973, Breast Cancer Care provides information and support for everyone affected by breast cancer. It is the only UK-wide charity dedicated to providing emotional and practical support for anyone affected by breast cancer. Breast Cancer Care campaigns for better support and care and promotes the importance of early detection.
A series of fun activities were arranged for staff at Pirelli’s Burton upon Trent office which included cake sales, leg waxing and a £1 donation for some of the calls taken by staff during the day.
Pirelli UK Managing Director, Dominic Sandivasci, commented: “Fundraising for cancer is a cause that is close to our hearts here at Pirelli and I am delighted to hear that our employees got into the spirit of things to help raise money for a worthy cause. I was especially impressed to hear that some of male employees went through what I can only imagine is a very painful leg waxing experience to raise extra funds! I am certain that the success of our latest fundraising efforts will help pave the way for more charity-based work activities in the future.”
