Pirelli-backed GT Cup confirms 2013 calendar
The Pirelli-supported GT Cup championship has confirmed that the 2013 calendar will feature seven rounds comprising of 19 races.
Italian tyre firm Pirelli will remain the championship’s official tyre supplier as the all-action series prepares to visit the UK’s most prestigious race circuits including the home of British motorsport: the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.
Each two day round will comprise of one 40 minute race with a compulsory pit stop on the Saturday, and two twenty-five minute sprint races on the Sunday. The Saturday will also include a forty minute free practice session, and each day will have a 20 minute qualifying session. One-day rounds will have 30 minute qualifying session and two twenty five minute sprint races.
The Bute Motorsport organising team continues with Hannah Wilson as championship coordinator and Phil Boland as the technical coordinator. The team has also been joined by Rob Janes in a new role to help promote the championship.
