Nova Motorsport nears completion of new European plant

Recently-formed British tyre brand, Nova Motorsport, is in the advanced stages of a €20 million transformation of the Camac tyre factory in Portugal, recently acquired by the brand, to create a new European centre of tyre manufacturing.

According to Nova Motorsport, the facility will enable it to resume production of Avon Motorsport tyre products, enhance the quality and capability of the existing Camac tyre range and develop new motorsport, specialist and bespoke tyres for the future.

As part of this operation, over 200 lorries have been mobilised to transfer the entirety of the Melksham, UK facility to Palmeira in Portugal.

In early August, the first Avon Historic Competition tyres, and the first Nova Rallycross tyres will be manufactured, undergoing rigorous in-house rig testing and extensive track evaluation.

Nova Motorsport says it is on track to start full scale production of Avon CR6ZZ, Avon ACB9, a core Nova Rallycross range and Nova Autocross products in Q4 this year. It adds that this will ensure strong availability of supply ahead of 2025 and in good time for the racing season.

Production of Avon ACB10, several Avon Historic Competition ranges, a core range of 60 Avon Hillclimb products and the first contemporary Nova Circuit Racing tyres will hit the production line in Q1 next year.
