NI spotlight on part worn tyres
Local Councils in Northern Ireland are seeking funding for a part worn tyre campaign and have asked the NTDA NI to help carry out the campaign, the trade association has reported.
The campaign will involve the Local Council purchasing part worn tyres
all over Northern Ireland and sending the tyres to an independent surveyor in England to be tested.
The NTDA (NI) says this campaign is the only way Local Councils can take action retailers that are selling part worn tyres.
“The more tyres they send the more realistic their findings will be. NTDA members may be able to help by supplying their own Council’s with any spare wheels they may have about their premises. The wheels will be returned after the tyres have been fitted and the findings have been recorded, so it is just a loan basis,” an NTDA (NI) spokseman commented.
Retailers in a position to help out, with the loan of wheels are asked to contact Roy Nutt, Chairman, NTDA (NI).
