Dunlop’s high performing Sport Maxx Race tyres have been selected for use on the new Porsche 911 GT3. The Sport Maxx Race was approved as the first tyre for the new 911 GT3 due to its ability to deliver a balanced and sporty performance at a high level.
The sports tyre, built on Dunlop’s racing DNA, is fitted on the Porsche 911 GT3 in a 245/35 ZR20 (91Y) NO for the front wheels and 305/30 ZR20 (103Y) XL NO for the rear axle. The sizes and the specific combination there-off were specifically developed for the new Porsche 911 GT3 and built in close collaboration with Porsche.
Andreas Preuninger, Project Manager GT cars at Porsche AG said “We were convinced of the Dunlop Sport Maxx Race’s abilities on the GT3 primarily due to its high level of grip. We were able to improve the braking deceleration of the car thanks to the tyres and the transverse forces were optimally transmitted. The solid steering response and high tracking stability further distinguished the tyres.”
Tests were also conducted on the Nürburgring Nordschleife race track with it’s various asphalt surfaces, curve radii and compressions which confirmed the tyre’s solid abilities to perform under the 911 GT3.
