Apollo Tyres has appointed Guido Boerkamp as the new director of its Off-Highway Tyres (OHT) division; he succeeds Ruud Nijland, who is retiring after over a decade at the company in this position.
Boerkamp brings 27 years of OHT experience, having first joined the company (then known as Vredestein) in 1995 as a product specialist for agricultural and industrial tyres. He subsequently worked as product manager, business development manager and head of product group, before leading Apollo Tyres’ European OHT R&D division.
In his new position, he will oversee the sales and marketing of Apollo Tyres’ growing range of Vredestein- and Apollo-branded agricultural and industrial construction products, managing further growth across Europe. He will report directly to Yves Pouliquen, head of sales and marketing Europe at Apollo Tyres.
“I’ve spent my entire career within this business – with Vredestein before its acquisition, and since then with Apollo Tyres – and have experienced first-hand its evolution as the needs of the agricultural and industrial construction sectors have changed across Europe,” commented Boerkamp.
“It is a great honour for me to now take the next step, leading the OHT business into a new era and with responsibility for a growing product portfolio. I want to thank Ruud for laying the foundations during his impressive tenure at the company.”
