MMAI raises €8,450 for Soar Foundation

At last week’s 2024 Continental Tyres Irish Car and Van of the Year awards at the Conrad Hotel in Dublin, the Motoring Media Association of Ireland (MMAI) helped raise €8,450 for the Soar Foundation, a charity that helps teenagers in the Irish school system.

A silent auction was added as a new item at this year’s awards, with MMAI chairman Joe Rayfus selecting the Soar Foundation as the charity partner.

Around 150 people attended the 2024 Continental Tyres Irish Car of the Year awards, all of whom could bid on select items, which included a number of signed sports jerseys and memorabilia. The winning bid for each item formed part of the overall donation of €8,450.

In a social media post, the Soar Foundation said: “We are so grateful to have been chosen by the Motoring Media Association Of Ireland (MMAI) as the charity partner for the Irish Car and Van of the Year awards 2024.

“We are blown away by the generous support of the MMAI community at their incredible event last Friday [3rd November].

“The funds donated will go towards helping teenagers to discover who they are and what they can achieve with our experiential, character–development programmes.”
