Mileage Tyres brings Radar EV range to Ireland
Mileage Tyres has introduced the Radar Tires range of electric vehicle (EV) tyres in Ireland. Exclusively distributed in Ireland by Mileage Tyres, Radar Tires is the flagship brand of Singapore-based manufacturer Omni United.
Originally launched in 2022, the Radar ‘EV Collection’ is said by Omni United to mark significant milestone for the company in meeting the evolving needs of the electric vehicle segment.
Omni United says it is continuing to “invest in research & development and product testing, constantly pushing the boundaries of its offerings to keep pace with the rapidly changing automotive industry”.
The EV Collection includes the Radar All Season EV, a dedicated range of electric vehicle tyres, as well as the EV-compatible fitments in the Dimax and RPX lines.
According to Omni United, the All Season EV tyre features a next-generation tread compound achieving very high mileage and top-of-the-class safety performance, combined with new structural components that help provide a balanced ride comfort, superior steering feel and very low noise.
The All Season EV has also been proven to perform as well as other premium tyre brands in various testing parameters. Rigorous testing is said to have been conducted specifically to evaluate the treadwear performance under the heavier weight and higher torque conditions of electric vehicles.
Omni United said the test results were “exceptionally impressive”, and as a result these tyres come with a 40,000-mile (approx. 64,000km) treadwear warranty so customers “get a product offering that is on par with the leading brands available in the market”.
The product tests were performed by an “independent test contractor” at a dedicated automotive/tyre test facility in the United States, using a Tesla Model S fitted with tyre size 245/45R19 102W XL.
As an example, the All Season EV is currently available in five popular Tesla fitments ranging from 18 to 20 inches. Additionally, the EV-compatible fitments in the Dimax R8+, Dimax R8, and RPX 800 have been designed to meet the requirements of both battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and hybrid vehicles. These are available in five popular sizes ranging from 15 to 17 inches.
“With our new compound and construction, we have rigorously tested the product for treadwear and we are very confident that the consumers will get high mileage from these tyres,” said Gajendra Singh Sareen, the founder and chief executive of Omni United.
